Matt Olien interviews author, painter, and writer Bro Halff about his books North Dakota Days and North Dakota Travels. Bro lives in Bismarck, and also in Hawaii. He fell in love with North Dakota almost 30 years ago, on a brief visit to the state. He delayed his departure for weeks, and returned there the next year, to make the state his home. His paintings portray the land, and small-town North Dakota life, in glowing, vibrant colors.
